New Financing Mechanisms for Clean Energy Investments in Latin America

We identified a clear opportunity to execute renewable energy projects and investments in the region, although barriers remain from both a regulatory and financial perspective.

The report identifies the obstacles that hinder the adoption of clean energy resources in Latin America's electricity systems, while recognizing the key role of the financial sector and the associated challenges.

The State of Photovoltaic Solar Distributed Generation in Latin America and the Caribbean

We hhighlight the regional and national development of distributed solar generation in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). For this purpose, we surveyed 11 markets with specific regulatory frameworks for this activity and a successful development since its implementation.

The markets surveyed are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

The Distributed Solar Generation Business Opportunity in Panama

We studied the market opportunities of distributed solar photovoltaic generation from the perspective of the banking sector, mainly from the commercial banking sector, in Panama. 

The financial sector, and in particular commercial banking, is a key player in the growth and consolidation of small and medium-scale photovoltaic systems in Panama.  

The Technical-Economic Potential for the installation of GSD systems in Panama results in a national total of 137,800 installations for 1,453 MWp.

Tools for the Promotion of Solar Photovoltaic Installations in the City of Buenos Aires

We developed a comprehensive analysis of the city's conditions, potential and barriers, and the elaboration of strategies to encourage a strong deployment of solar installations, detecting the most convenient tools and paths to achieve its carbon-neutrality goal by 2050.

The city of Buenos Aires has excellent solar radiation conditions and more than 150,000 roofs suitable for clean generation installations using photovoltaic solar energy, so this technology has great potential to help reduce emissions.
